I have joined Liz Lamoreux's "Inner Excavate-Along," which starts on Monday (July 6th).
Here is the link to the Inner Excavate-Along.
I've had Liz's book Inner Excavation on my Wish List for a long time. I've been reading her blog for a few years. I didn't want to begin anything new during my Putting Away Project, other than ongoing practice with Martha Beck exercises. But when I saw that she was doing a free 6-week "Inner Excavate-Along" I decided to join. I swear somewhere ently she wrote something about the Excavation helping us get started with things we can't get done - in a blog post or newsletter - but I can't find it now. It was that comment that made me want to sign up. I ordered her book last week, from her website because I wanted to order it from her, and receive a signed copy.
I have a very specific intention for the Excavation: I want to figure out why I can't get back to The Journaling Project, deal with it, and get back to The Journaling Project. That is my goal.
The Excavation (and most of Liz's practices) involve self-portraits "as a way of seeing ourselves in the world" as Liz says (or something like that). So I took a couple of self-portraits this evening.
Re: the Journal below - I needed a new cheapie journal and Target only had ones with plastic covers, which I wasn't crazy about, but it's all they had and I needed one. I puzzled over what to do for several weeks until I remembered we have sets of Sharpie markers at work in numerous colors, so I borrowed a set at my desk and decorated the cover.
