I'm trying something new with my artwork planning. I'm going to gather my images in a blog post, for future perusal. Currently I don't have much of a blog audience, and my blog tends to be very much for me - for writing and expressing my thoughts and documenting my life (in particular, over the past few years, the 'Putting Away' project and My Life Story).
After I uploaded all of our photos and scans to the Cloud, I thought about what a great resource it is for me to be able to scroll through everything on my Kindle. I can easily download images from the Cloud to my Kindle, and then delete off the Kindle when I'm done. And rather than printing images to consider, I thought about posting them online.
I would LOVE to have Instagram. I want Instagram SO BAD. But I don't have a smartphone yet. My husband just got one, because he needed it for his new job. But our old dumb phones are still under contract, so we only got one for him (and had to get a third line, thank you Verizon). In December the old phone contracts expire so I can finally upgrade to a smartphone and get rid of this annoying flip phone with the number pad key (when we got a new contract the Verizon person we were live-chatting with said we had selected our exact same phone model, but instead of the slidey-keyboard we got the NUMBER PAD KEY WHERE YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE SAME NUMBER MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET TO THE LETTER YOU WANT. I know, First World Problems. Point being that I cannot wait until December when I can get a smartphone and finally - FINALLY - join Instagram.
So, until then, I will be putting together blog posts with photos and images I wish to consider for artwork. I may do follow-up blog posts as I edit the grouping of images. This is new, so I will see how it goes and see whether I like it.
When I finally get Instagram, I will likely post all sorts of things there, including Idea Notebook images. And continue to post on Typepad, because I love my blog and it's my favorite way to post online - it's easy to organize and things don't get lost because it's all mine. When I have more artwork to post, I will finally start using my artist Tumblr (but not my regular Tumblr - things get lost in the sea of reblogged posts). I will also still post artwork on my Twitter, but, again, like Tumblr, things tend to get lost. My Typepad is my 'Blog of Record' so to speak.
So, welcome to my Idea Notebook (which is now its own category).
