This is my Lovely Dream Big Journal. I worked on it throughout most of 2012.
Painting while having Symon around has been a bit of a challenge. However, I learned a lesson when I painted the back cover of the ALD Big Journal and left it flat to dry. I had just brushed on the dark Phthalo Blue paint, when Symon jumped up and walked right across it! If you look closely you can see his little paw prints (the lighter areas).
I grabbed him right away and took him straight to the kitchen sink, grabbing a big towel on the way. I didn't have time to get the cat shampoo, so I just used Dawn (yes, Dawn dishwashing soap).
Symon hates getting a bath and always put up a fight. It might have been after this incident that I told Steve bathing Symon needs to be a two-person job. Because he fights so hard I was afraid I'd break one of his arms trying to hold him. Luckily it was only his feets I needed to wash and also very luckily the Dawn got the paint right off. I quickly rinsed him and dried him a bit. I took a few photos with my cell phone, but they will be too far back in my Twitter feed to find.
I still have the blue paint splotches from his paws on my painting shirt:
The front of my painting shirt is something Suzi Blu said online. I stamped in red paint, using my alphabet stamps, my butterfly stamps, and I traced and painted my mask shapes that I made using photographs. Oh, and my homemade kissy print stamp, later destroyed.
And I never, ever left anything with paint on it drying flat where Symon could walk on it.
I promised Symon I would never do that to him again.
And here is Symon! (Pics taken this morning.)
