An episode of 'Wednesday Wisdom,' by April of Blacksburg Belle, was just on point for what I needed to hear. Check out her video here.
Do I want to be a professional? Of course I do! Yet I still don't act like it. I've been trying to quit continually doubting myself and abandoning ideas or projects before they come to fruition. That's not helpful. That's amateur behavior. But I can't seem to break those habits yet. As a result, I can't tell you what I'm doing to be a professional artist.
On top of that, I haven't updated any of my About pages since signing up for whatever social media I am on. My online presence needs an overhaul. All my avatars are a picture of me and Symon.
Am I an artist or Symon's Mom? Wait, don't answer that right now.
I have a lot of work to do.
For now, I intend for this blog to be my place to write. My Tumblr is for posting photos of artwork, in progress and finished. My Twitter is for Symon pictures, and other quick fun stuff, maybe art sketches taken with the cell phone. Facebook is mainly for keeping track of friends and family.
I follow some artists online who only post their artwork and nothing else. I don't think I want to do that, but I definitely need to start tipping the scales toward more art and less 'other.'

Best of luck with whatever you choose, Lisa...I think everyone struggles with the same topic. :)
