Sharon drove me to U Street Metro Station one evening and I saw two of the Shepard Fairey Obama posters on buildings. Cool! I decided to bring my camera and take some photos
First, the Progress. Then, walking up 14th, I see more on electrical boxes at street corners. Then I realize that "mural" on the side of Logan Hardware is another one of his! And when I step up the alley to get a better shot, I see more posters down the alley. Then, Thursday I see where the second Progress is - on the building by Whole Paycheck! If I go to the parking roof at WP I can get a shot of it. So I bring my camera again on Friday, and I walk up 14th on the other side of the street and see a Hope poster on an electrical box.
Like the shot through the fence?
Another Progress shot.
Here's a wider shot of the block.
Here's a shot where you can see the street signs at the corner - U St and 14th.
Obey Guns is on the walk up 14th. Going towards P Street, it's on the left. I usually walk on the left side of the street to keep me out of the sun. There is a Treasury poster on the side of this box.
However, I like this shot better, of two Treasury posters on the opposite side of the street.
And the Hope poster, which I would not have seen had I not decided to walk on the opposite side of the street to look for other posters!
Roses Girl is on a box at 14th and P Street. She's also on a box across P Street.
Here is a shot of Gun Girl on the wall by Logan Hardware, very close to 14th and P Street.
Closer shot of Gun Girl.
And a close-up of Gun Girl.
I walked up the alley and saw this - there's a guy in a gas mask on the left, lots of little stuff in the center, and Roses Girl again.
I had to go to the parking roof at WP to get this shot. This is on P Street looking towards the corner of P and 14th. It's the side of the Logan Hardware building.
Closer shot of Progress. Like the bus in the shot?
