We got off at Archives and went to Starbucks. I needed something to eat, so I got a scone. Then we walked over to the Mall. Everyone was flying kites - part of the opening of the Cherry Blossom Festival. We walked toward the Wash. Monument.
First a better shot of Treebird.
Kites on the Mall.
Then toward the Tidal Basin and all the Cherry Blossom trees in bloom. Very pretty. Lots of people. We walked a little ways, and then that was enough. Took photos. Went back across the street and found a bench to eat lunch.
Me with my long Battlestar Bangs (suddenly I'm trendy!).
And Steve (heart).
We also went through the WWII monument, before a very long walk to Farragut North Metro Station.
Nice shot of the WWII Monument.
We did a lot of walking. On the way home Steve said I looked really tired, so he went out to do grocery shopping so I could stay home. (heart)
